The 2022 Milan Fashion Week took place from February 22, 2022 to February 28, 2022, following London Fashion Week. The week-long event consisted of fashion shows from brands like Fendi, Prada, Bottega Veneta, and more. There were many pieces showcased for Fall 2022 that may be the start of different trends. Many of these pieces are already popular options, but the special designs in which they were created show their differentiability from what’s popular.

Aniye Records, low rise pant trend

Low rise pants

This Y2K trend is coming back in full circle. Although I am personally not a fan of low rise (high rise all the way for me), I love the leather / tie up pants by Aniye Records.

GCDS, Catsuit
GCDS, Catsuit

Catsuits

This GCDS piece shows just what catsuits represent for me. A sexy piece that can be created so uniquely. Every catsuit I’ve seen has a personality of its own, which makes it the perfect trend as each piece looks different. I am sure there will soon be something out there to fit almost everyone’s own fashion sense.

Athlesuire

It looks like athleisure is here to stay! With many jobs remaining remote, and people just wanting to stay comfortable while they work, this trend is one that I believe will not be a trend, but will continue to be a staple in many people’s wardrobes for years to come.

Bottega Veneta, White Tank Top

The White Tank Top

Sometimes staples in our closet can be overlooked, and our love for them is usually overshadowed by our more trendy pieces. The designers in Milan Fashion Week decided to give us a good wake up call and let us know we should never take those pieces for granted again. While the show showcased items for Fall 2022, I think this outfit from Bottega is the perfect summer staple outfit.

So those were my favourite trends that I saw at Milan Fashion Week 2022. What do you think about these new / emerging trends? Do you think they are a breath of fresh air from what we’ve been normally seeing? Do you think the past needs to stay in the past? Let us know!
